As of late July 2008, the C&SFT will probably be without a home.

I have found employment 600 miles / 1000 kms away from where I live and the rental housing market in that town is a lot tighter ad more expensive than where we currently live. In the town we currently live in we own our home (actually the bank owns most of it!), but in the town we will be moving to we will be renting. Most of the houses within our price range simply don't have the space for the sort of model railroad I like to have, and my C&SFT RR layout definitely would not be able to be set up in the configuration I would like.

So it's quite possible the C&SFT will become a fallen flag! That just depresses me, really. This layout has been the most fun to operate of any layout I have built. I really don't want to build another layout as available space, and available space configuration will always be a problem for us once we move as no two houses would have the same space dimensions available.

I don't particularly want to put in the effort to move the layout 600 miles to a new town knowing it might not fit in any house we end up renting.

Maybe it's time for me to get out of model railroading altogether! Time will tell...
